Dr. Eric Cai, Ph.D., J.D.
Attorney at Law, New Weiming

Dr. Eric Cai earned his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C. Prior to earning his law degree, he received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Peking University, China. During his enrollment at Georgetown University Law Center, Dr. Cai received merit-based scholarship awards for three consecutive years and served as member of the editorial board of the American Criminal Law Review. Dr. Cai is licensed in Virginia and the District of Columbia, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Cai has developed extensive knowledge and expertise in providing a full range of legal services in a manner rarely matched by any other law firm. His practice focuses on Patent Law, U.S. Immigration Law, Commercial and Business Law, Intellectual Property, and Litigation. 


Donald R. Forest
Senior Advisor, New Weiming


Donald R. Forest recently joined New Weiming as a senior advisor and consultant to support New Weiming’s existing and growing business and assist in launching New Weiming’s Editing Solutions. He has more than 30 years of domestic and international experience, including living and working in China and managing major government, private sector, and nonprofit programs and initiatives. Prior to joining New Weiming, Mr. Forest served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) from 2008-2015, America's pre-eminent association representing the nation's aerospace and defense manufacturers. Mr. Forest resided and worked in Beijing for six years, serving as Vice President and Chief Representative of Citigroup CitiInsurance in Beijing.

A former Presidential Management Fellow, Mr. Forest has a B.A. from Clark University in Massachusetts and a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. He served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University and undertook additional studies at Shanghai's East China Normal University, Harvard University, and the University of Arizona. 


Peter Herdrich

Mr. Herdrich is an accomplished, award-winning writer, producer, and editor. He brings three decades of success to Cultural Capital, building on his experience across the editorial and management sides of media and his leadership in academic initiatives around the world. Mr. Herdrich has enjoyed long success in commercial broadcast journalism. As Senior Producer of CBS Television Distribution’s “Inside Edition,” and at ABC News, Mr. Herdrich won national journalism awards as a producer for his investigative work and for coverage of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. He wrote and produced for CBS, Fox, Disney, USA, and NBC. 


Dr. Edward Goldstein
Senior Consultant, New Weiming 

 

Dr. Edward Goldstein has been with the Aerospace Industries Association since June 2012, as the Senior Writer and Editor. In this position, he writes speeches and opinion pieces for AIA’s leadership and edits AIA’s Executive Report. Prior to joining AIA, he was from 2009 to 2012 Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Senior Manager for Government Relations. From 2002-2009, he was the lead writer at NASA Headquarters, working directly for the Administrator. He received NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Award in 2003. Prior to working at NASA, Dr. Goldstein was the speechwriter at The Nature Conservancy from 1999-2002 and served as Deputy Associate Director of Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Policy for the White House Office of Domestic and Economic Policy from 1990-1993.   

Dr. Goldstein received his Ph.D. in Public Administration from the George Washington University in 2007.   He also has a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he was a John F. Kennedy Fellow, and a BA in Political Science from Colorado College.


Virginia Hulme
Senior Consultant, New Weiming

 

 

Ms. Virginia Hulme has nearly 20 years of experience editing in nonprofit and government organizations focusing on U.S.-China business, cancer research, and actuarial professionalism. She is currently Standards Editor at the American Academy of Actuaries, helping actuaries write and revise actuarial standards of practice. From 2011-2013, she was an editor with the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Bulletin, a highly respected newsletter that covered the latest developments in cancer research.

 Previously she has served as deputy director of publications and chief editor of the China Business Review magazine, the US-China Business Council’s widely read flagship publication. While at the Council, an organization of U.S. companies doing business in China, she managed, edited, and produced a wide variety of publications covering China’s economy and business environment, U.S.-China trade, and bilateral relations.

Ms. Hulme earned an honors B.A. in East Asian Studies from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She then lived in Beijing for two years, including a year at the Beijing Language Institute on a China-Canada Exchange Scholarship. After returning to the U.S., she earned a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
